Gutter Repair & Replacement
Traditional sectional gutters, repairs, and knowing which one you actually need.
Your Gutters Are Part of Your Roofing System
The gutter system is a critical component of your roofing system. It protects your house against structural damage — but gutters only function well when they receive good care.
You might think scaling the side of your house with a ladder to clear clogs or refasten loose sections is enough. That maintenance is necessary, but it will not on its own guarantee a long-lasting gutter system. Our roofing experts inspect your gutters, fix broken parts, and advise honestly on whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
Repair or Replace? What to Consider
Premium quality gutters generally last about 20 to 30 years, but that life expectancy does not make them immune to damage. Weigh the following:
- How widespread the damage is — isolated sections can often be repaired
- Whether joints and seams are separating along the run
- Whether the fascia behind the gutter is sound or already rotting
- How old the system is relative to that 20–30 year window
- Whether repeated repairs are already costing more than replacement
Maintenance That Actually Helps
One of the most valuable things you can do yourself is regular cleaning — removing debris from the channels to prevent clogging and allow water to flow freely.
- Clear debris at least twice a year, and after major storms
- Check downspouts discharge well clear of the foundation
- Look for granules from the roof collecting in the channel
- Consider gutter covers if clearing them is a recurring chore
